Using a high-viscosity Newtonian fluid, glycerol, an experimental investigation was carried out to evaluate the stable spouting regime in conical spouted beds using four particle mixtures: a reference (monoparticles), a binary mixture, two ternary mixtures with flat and Gaussian distributions respectively. The mixtures were selected for particle diameters (dp) ranging from 1.09 to 4.98 mm and particle diameter ratios (dpL/dps) ranging from 1.98 to 4.0. Experimental data show that pressure fluctuation signals of the bed, as indicated by changes in their standard deviations, provide suitable information to identify the range of operational conditions for stable spouting. However, the analysis of skewness of curves of pressure fluctuation as a function of air velocity appears not sufficient to identify a particular flow regime. For glycerol in the spouting regime, the standard deviation is noted to increase with increasing glycerol concentration due to the growth of interparticle forces. The implications of these research findings on the drying of suspensions in conical spouted beds using glass bead mixtures are also discussed. 相似文献

Two position isomers of hydroxy‐methyl‐pyridine (3‐hydroxy‐2‐methyl‐pyridine and 2‐hydroxy‐3‐methyl‐pyridine) were studied theoretically at the BLYP level of theory in order to find mechanisms explaining the excited‐state deactivations of isomers through ring puckering and “ethylene‐like” conical intersections. The study aims also to clarify the mechanisms of the ground‐state proton transfers. Three conical intersections S0/S1 for each isomer were found, which are accessible through the 1ππ* excited states. In both isomers, there is a 1ππ* excited‐state reaction path, which leads, in a completely barrierless manner, to the one of the conical intersections S0/S1. This paper is the part 2 of our previous thin film heat transfer measurements. In the first report we measured time variations
of heat flux over a cylinder placed in a shock tube flow and compared experimental results with CFD results, Saito et al.
(Shock Waves 14:327–333, 2004). We report a result of heat transfer measurements over an 86° apex angle cone surface impinged
by a Ms = 2.38 shock wave in air with distributed thin film transfer gauges along cone surface and its comparison with results of
numerical simulations. We performed double exposure holographic interferometric observation, and also from the heat transfer
measurement and numerical simulation, confirmed the presence of delayed transition from regular to Mach reflection over the
cone. The numerical estimation of delayed transition distance from the apex agreed very well with experimental one.

The elastic problem of the contact between an axisymmetric indenter and a general anisotropic (21 independent elastic constants) half space has not been solved explicitly in closed form. Implicit methods to determine the indentation modulus originate from the work of Willis [J. Mech. Phys. Solids 14 (1966) 163]; and are now available for conical, parabolic and spherical indenters [Philos. Mag. A 81 (2001) 447; J. Mech. Phys. Solids 51 (2003) 1701]. The particular case of orthotropy has also been investigated [ASME J. Tribol. 115 (1193) 650, 125 (2003) 223]. This paper proposes an explicit solution for the indentation moduli of a transversely isotropic medium and a general orthotropic medium under rigid conical indentation in the three principal material symmetry directions. The half-space Green’s functions are interpolated from their exact extreme values, then integrated and finally simplified. The proposed closed form expressions are in very good agreement with the implicit solution schemes of [Philos. Mag. A 81 (2001) 447; J. Mech. Phys. Solids 51 (2003) 1701]. 相似文献
